Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has requested a trade, league sources confirmed to The Athletic on Saturday. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport first reported the news. Here’s what you need to know:
- Taylor met with Colts owner Jim Irsay on Saturday, with Irsay saying the meeting was “great” and that he’s “hopeful” for Taylor to be part of a good season.
- Indianapolis announced Tuesday that Taylor was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list. He underwent ankle surgery in January and missed all of OTAs and veteran minicamp.
- The 24-year-old was seeking a contract extension entering the final year of his rookie deal, and he recently voiced his displeasure about the diminishing running back market.
