Travis Kelce’s and Chris Jones’ return helped the Kansas City Chiefs earn their first win this season. Now, the Chiefs return home to face off against the struggling Chicago Bears. Kansas City enters as two-possession favorites.
Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium. The game will be televised on FOX.
After an offseason that included adding D.J. Moore to the offense, Chicago still needs to be in sync. Quarterback Justin Fields enters week three with only two passing touchdowns and three interceptions and has not recorded a QBR north of 30. He has also been sacked 10 times through two games, tied for second-worst in the league with Sam Howell and Daniel Jones. Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones had 1.5 sacks in his return against Jacksonville and could often find himself in the Bears’ backfield.
It was an eventful Wednesday for the Bears as Fields said he’s being overcoached and wants just to play. Defensive coordinator Alan Williams’ resigned and Chicago also placed left tackle Braxton Jones on IR.
The win in Jacksonville wasn’t always pretty for Kansas City. The team lost two fumbles, and quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw an interception, losing the turnover battle to the Jaguars 3-1. The Chiefs defense didn’t allow a touchdown to Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville offense.
Mahomes threw the game-winning touchdown to Travis Kelce and threw for 300 yards for the first time this season.
As Kelce ramps back up to 100 percent health after a knee injury that kept him out of Week 1, the duo will look to keep eating against a Bears secondary that’s allowed 562 passing yards through two games.
