Early Thursday, July 6, TMZ reported that Britney Spears was slapped by a member of NBA player Victor Wembanyama’s security team on Wednesday night in Las Vegas. Now, People has confirmed that a police report was filed, reportedly by Spears herself.
The alleged incident took place at Catch restaurant located inside the Aria hotel, per TMZ. In a statement to People, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said that “officers responded to a property in the 3700 block of Las Vegas Boulevard regarding a battery investigation.” Police arrived around 11 p.m. on Wednesday evening, per the LVMPD. As of publishing, “no arrest or citations have been issued.”
TMZ reports that Spears had plans to dine with her husband, Sam Asghari, and two other guests on the evening of July 5. The outlet also published photos which appear to depict Spears standing a few feet away from San Antonio Spurs star Wembanyama and his security guard.
Neither Britney Spears nor Victor Wembanyama have issued statements on the alleged incident.

Back in May, Spears wrote on Instagram that she was working toward reconciling her relationship with her mother, Lynne Spears.
“My sweet mama showed up at my door step yesterday after 3 years,” Spears wrote in the caption, alongside a childhood photo of herself in a ballet costume. “It’s been such a long time … with family there’s always things that need to be worked out … but time heals all wounds !!!
