Who’s ready for some good news about Britney Spears? That’s a silly question, because the answer is, obviously, everybody. On July 10 the superstar took to social media to tease an exciting upcoming announcement, prompting the internet to scream collectively: BRITNEY IS COMING!

“Great news coming tomorrow 👀🤫🙊 …,” Spears wrote on Twitter and Threads (where she is now going by the name Maria River Red). “I’m so so excited…can’t wait to share this news with you all !!!!” The message was accompanied by one of the singer’s signature living room dancing videos, in which she’s wearing a white peasant crop top, blue string bikini bottoms, and knee-high white boots.

Fans on social media were quick to share their excitement. Soon, Twitter users were sharing memes of people dancing, of iconic images of the star herself, of Will Ferrell in Elf, with the phrase “Britney is coming.” The assumption was that Brit had new music to release, and based on some early rumors, it was a pretty fair assumption to make. On July 9, the Mirror reported that Spears had recorded a new track with will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas, 11 years after they collaborated on the track “Scream & Shout” in 2012.

But the news turned out to be something way more exciting than a new music collab. Britney Spears has officially revealed the title, cover, and release date of her upcoming tell-all memoir. And yes it is available for pre-order. The book is called The Woman in Me, and will reveal the details of her journey “for the first time,” according to the official website. “Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last,” the promo copy reads.

The book is set to be released on October 24, assuming it hasn’t already sold out by then.
