As RedState reported, Donald Trump has been indicted at the federal level again. Special Counsel Jack Smith, appointed by AG Merrick Garland to probe the former president on various fronts, has charged Trump with four counts, including conspiracy to “defraud the United States.”
Those charges come less than two months after the DOJ brought charges related to classified documents that were retained at Mar-a-Lago and allegedly shared with others in violation of the Espionage Act.

The charges involve several different offshoots of Trump’s alleged activities following the 2020 election, with counts one and four appearing to be related to the fake electors scheme that he and his team pushed, while counts two and three seem related to the events of January 6th itself. Several of the charges carry up to 20 years in prison each.
One part of the indictment, beginning on page 7, lays out Trump’s comments (and those around him) behind the scenes, stating that he knew he had lost the 2020 election.
Another big revelation in the indictment is that there are six co-conspirators who will also presumably be charged. Some of the identities can likely be gleaned by the descriptions provided.
Another thing to mention here is how compact and straightforward the indictment appears to be. That means this case will almost certainly happen much faster than the DOJ case in Florida concerning classified documents and obstruction of justice. One attorney, on LiveNOW from Fox, said he expects this latest indictment to go to trial first.
Some are pointing out that the decision to indict Trump again came just a day after Devon Archer testified that Joe Biden not only knew about his son’s business dealings but was on the phone during at least 20 meetings with various foreign associates. Whether that’s a coincidence or not, the perception put forth is one of brazen weaponization.
