I think Joe Biden has likely been the worst person to ever occupy the Oval Office when it comes to securing our Southen border.
But you wouldn’t know that if you just listened to what the White House was putting out during its daily briefings.

“The President has done more to secure the border to deal with this issue of immigration than anybody else. He really has.” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre unbelievably claimed. “June saw the single largest month-to-month drop in lawful, unlawful border crossings because of the policies [he] put in place.”
She touted getting “funding” as evidence of doing something to stem the tide. Outrageously, she then tried to argue Biden was dealing with the issue on his own because the Republicans didn’t want to deal with it. She said that Republicans just keep turning it into a “political stunt.”
My gosh, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a load of horse hockey, and that’s saying something from an administration known for shoveling the malarkey. This is people truly living in a bubble.
The reporter she was responding to, CBS’s Ed O’Keefe, or frankly any other reporter there, should have followed up her ridiculous spin with: what has Biden done that has truly reduced the numbers or secured the border? The answer to that is he hasn’t done much, and indeed, most of what he has done has made things worse from the start of his occupation of the office.
Indeed, let’s talk about one of those things that Biden did and “political stunts.” Biden did all he could to destroy what former President Donald Trump had put in place from the moment he came in, stopping Remain in Mexico and the building of the border wall. Trump had already built 450 miles of border wall and had secured more wall material to finish the job. Biden paid millions NOT to build the wall and now has been quietly selling that material at a loss. That’s how dedicated he is to protecting America. He’s so petty, he can’t allow the defense of the country to take precedence over his wrongheaded ideas.
But Fox’s Bill Melugin, the guy who has spent a lot of time covering the border, wasn’t letting KJP get away with such spin.

June was months ago. KJP ignores the new & recent surging numbers.

Melugin nails how they’re not dealing with reality, yet again. Not only are illegal aliens flooding across the border in record numbers, but we now have to worry that in the flood, there are more from hostile countries who may wish us harm. The CBP warned about a record number from China, an 800-percent increase, as we reported. Many of those are men of military age. As my colleague Mike Miller phrased it, what could go wrong?
That was even worse than what she claimed the day before when grilled by Fox’s Peter Doocy. She claimed they were “stopping the flow.”

Melugin wasn’t the only one who blew up KJP’s claim; others weighed in and just decimated it.
Even the Washington Post is noting the record number of family units crossing in August, as Sen. Katie Britt (R-AL) pointed out.
