Westville, an American fare restaurant known for serving fresh, simply prepared meals featuring 21 vegetables daily, has announced the opening of its eighth New York City location at 2290 Broadway. The 4,300-square-foot space will mark the restaurant group’s first Upper West Side location. Comprised of a ground floor, lower level and outdoor dining space, the restaurant will seat approximately 115 people.
“For 20 years, Westville has been serving thousands of New Yorkers each week. We have long believed that every neighborhood in New York City should have its own Westville,” said Jay Strauss, Founder and Partner of Westville. “With this goal in mind and an endless number of requests for us to open a location on the Upper West Side, we felt this location was a natural expansion for our business. We were lucky enough to find a great spot in the neighborhood and are currently under construction. We look forward to serving the community in late 2023.”
Doug Kleiman and Eric Fisher of RIPCO Real Estate serves as the exclusive broker for Westville Restaurants across New York City. Craig Slosberg of Newmark represented the landlord in this transaction.
“As Westville continues its expansion throughout New York City, 2290 Broadway offers an ideal location on the Upper West Side with significantly more space than other locations within the portfolio,” said Kleiman, Executive Managing Director at RIPCO. “We are confident that Westville’s newest location will serve as a natural growth for the company and attract both residents and visitors in the neighborhood. Its simple-casual American cuisine is unlike any other eatery in the area.”
Westville was founded in 2003 and is currently located in New York City’s Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs with restaurants in Chelsea, Hells Kitchen, East Village, Hudson Square, Financial District, Williamsburg and Dumbo.
Previously home of Artie’s Deli, the filming spot for popular Netflix series, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, 2290 Broadway is a neighbor to some of New York City’s most iconic destinations such as the American Museum of Natural History, Rose Center for Space and Earth and Central Park. Sitting between 82nd and 83rd Street, the property is easily accessible by multiple subway lines including the 1, 2, 3, A, B and C trains.
